Jean Dessain joins Reacfin

Reacfin is happy to announce that Pr. Jean Dessain has accepted to take an active and regular role in the business development and management of our company. As of July 1st 2021, Pr. Dessain officially joins Reacfin as Associate Partner & Senior Expert.

As many will know, Jean has already been recently involved in the execution of Reacfin consulting missions. Next to pursuing such activities, in his new role, Jean will be particularly involved in the development of Reacfin’s solutions (in consulting, training and tooling) for banks, asset managers and investment firms. He will also be beefing-up our offer regarding investment challenges for insurance companies and pension funds.
Jean Dessain has 30 years of experience in the financial sector and more specifically in the capital markets.

Over the past 20 years, lately as consultant with Navagne and before as member of the Fortis CFO MT, Jean has structured or led more than EUR 30 billion capital raising transactions in Europe, Asia and the US.

He started his career as trader in interest rate derivatives and headed the interest rate options and exotic derivatives activities at Bank Paribas Belgium (1991-1998). He joined Fortis to take care of capital markets transactions for capital management. He then evolved to become General Manager Capital & Funding, responsible for the capital management, the relationship with rating agencies and the debt investors relations. He was member of the ALM Committee and board member of various financing vehicles(2000 – 2010). Since 2010, Jean has pursued these activities as consultant both for very large issuers as well as for start-up companies.

Jean is also professor of finance and machine learning at IÉSEG, School of Management, and non-executive director of various companies.

Our Chairman, Professor Pierre Devolder and our Managing Partners, Mr. Xavier Maréchal and Pr. François Ducuroir are honored by Jean’s decision to join Reacfin and warmly welcome him on board. His senior experience and broad range of skills will strongly complement Reacfin’s existing expertise.
